(A brief history as I remember it)

OTC claim to fame was the patented Triple Print head system.  So the OTC had 3
print head in some of their printer making the print speeds up to 700cps in the 80's!!!
That was unheard of considering other printer like the TI 880's top speed of 330cps

Output Technology. Corp. was designing, manufactured and marketing high speed, high volume,
continuous-form laser and impact printers. I believe they first started with the OTC 700 series
impact printers and later on purchased Pentax continues forms laser printers and then
re-branded them with their OTC logo.

Special note about the 800 number.  It was written on stickers and affixed to every

printer OTC made and was printed on every box of OTC ribbons but for some reason
​when I guess OTC was having some financial issues.  Some brilliant executive
decided to sell the 800 number to a Adult Phone site for the rumored amount of
$10,000.00 which is still running strong to this day....Real smart guys!

Feb 1988

OTC advertises the OTC 850XL (Serial & Parallel Ports), 888 (Twinax Port) and 889 (Coax Port).

OTC now has over 170 Service Centers nationwide.

MAY 1988

OTC introduces the OTC 2160 (Part of the 2100 Series: 2140, 2160, 2180),  can print

​1,800cps or 600lpm at a low cost of $6,450.

April 1988

OTC has over 200 Service Center nationwide and a office in the Netherlands

May 1989

OTC advertises the lower cost printer.  The OTC 560DL (Apx 560cps but never found

out what the DL stood for.  Also I think this is almost exactly the same printer as the Duraline.)

After 1991 ?

OTC changes is Logo to:

August 1991

|

OTC advertises the OTC 850XL.  This printer can print up to 850cps and that is fast.

Even today in 2016 there are very few that can come close to that speed of print.

Early 1993
OTC files for bankruptcy.

January 2000

OTC is tying building the OTC650 continues forms laser printer that will print

about 65 pagers per minuet, But they are have issues in production.
